Colposcopy

A colposcopy is a simple procedure used to look at the cervix, the lower part of the womb at the top of the vagina. It's often done if cervical screening finds abnormal cells in your cervix.

LLETZ (large loop excision of the transformation zone) is one of several possible surgical interventions for treating cervical dysplasia. LEEP (loop electrosurgical excision procedure) is one of several possible surgical interventions for treating cervical dysplasia.
During a LEEP, a thin wire loop is used to excise (cut out) abnormal tissue. Your cervix is then cauterized (burned) to stop any bleeding. The area usually heals in 4 to 6 weeks.
